The Client

Our client is the nation’s leading cultural, fine arts and digital art advisory body.  They aim to improve the funding available to artists, the accessibility of art and events to all Australians and ensure the effective allocation of resources within the sector.  They develop valuable relationships between their stakeholders by blending analytical thinking, deep experience and robust evidence.

 

The Role

This role plays a key role in leading the development and implementation of a consolidated research and evaluation strategy and practice that informs the arts sector in the continuous development of excellence in advocacy, innovation and artistic vibrancy.  This will involve developing knowledge management, Strategic and Operational Plans and building and supporting an internal and external community of researchers to enhance research capacity.

 

The Requirements

Whilst you are comfortable reviewing and improving systems, you will also show ambition and be both personable and adaptable and have a keen interest in both evaluation and research strategies.  An understanding and appreciation of research with a Fine Arts context is desirable but not a requirement.  To be considered for this role, you must also be able to demonstrate:

  • Successful leadership and a minimum of 6 years’ senior management experience in an analytical capacity within a government, semi-government agency, professional academic (eg. arts, cultural, public policy, government) or market research agency environment
  • Relevant degree qualifications coupled with postgraduate research training or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated experience influencing outcomes within a government setting
  • Strong primary and secondary market research skills and integrating information from various sources
  • Extensive experience in research policy and administration resulting in effective delivery of integrated goals
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to clearly communicate complex issues to a broad range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality in research and communication of research outcomes.
